Sembra che in diversi abbiano avuto problemi nello scaricare gli aggiornamenti di Windows tramite windows update. Se avete problemi anche voi e il software da errore 80246005 seguite questi passaggi:

> Click start-> run
> type services.msc then press enter
> Look for the Automatic Updates Service, right click it and choose to stop
> Click start->run
> type %windir%\SoftwareDistribution then press enter
> Open the DataStorage folder and delete its contents.
> Click start->run
> type services.msc
> right click the Automatic Update Service and choose to start
> Now try running the Updates again.

La procedura suggerita da mattia e dal Support & Troubleshooting di microsoft permettere di risolvere egregiamente il problema nel 99% dei casi.

Mi è capitato di dover usare questa procedura, riuscire poi a scaricare gli aggiornamenti con successo e....

....perdere per sempre il PC dopo il RIAVVIO, con conseguente riformattazione della macchina in questione.
